  • More than 25 years of experience in the fields of external auditing and advisory services in the Big Four audit firms up to Partnership level as well as in the accounting and finance functions as Chief Financial Officer in a well reputed financial institution.
  • Extensive experience in commercial matters, where he held the position of CEO of Nafaes International Group Company for five years.
  • IFRS training, CPA and CMA professional certificate training as well as financial analysis and corporate education for more than 15 years in many reputable universities and institutions, such as Gulf University for Science and Technology, Kuwait Association for Accountants and Auditors, Price Waterhouse Coopers In house training.

Areas of Expertise:

  • External Audit: More than 15 years in the external audit and consultancy. During his years of experience in the Big Four firms, Moataz was the Audit Engagement Leader for several listed companies working in the financial industry, contracting, real-estate. Moataz also participated as the Engagement Director responsible for the audit of high-risk clients characterized by multi-location audit and complicated consolidation.
  • Financial Due Diligence: Managed several special assignments relating to carrying out financial due diligence on targets working in different industries, including construction, oil and gas, real estate, and retail. The total value of transactions for mergers and acquisitions relating to the due diligence that Moataz supervised is about KD 50 M. • Participated as a key team member in carrying out financial due diligence on one of the banks.
  • ⁠IFRSs & IFRSs Convergence: Broad practical experience of implementing IFRSs in different industries including insurance, investment, real estate, retail, contracting, manufacturing, and oil and gas. During his working with the previous external audit firms, Moataz had extensive experience in reviewing and auditing the financial statements for various companies working in different industries, to ensure that they are complete, accurate and in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs). Moataz has extensive experience in the implementation of IFRSs beside IFRSs Convergence. Moataz also is advising the companies on how to implement new IFRSs in their financial statements.
  • Financial & Management Restructuring: Vast experience of implementing successful management and financial restructuring in several large organizations, including restructuring debts and liabilities of more than KD 150 M.
  • Policies and Procedures Preparation: Developed several Policies and Procedures manuals taking into consideration the legal requirements, the CMA obligations and the best practices for many departments while he was working as Chief Financial Officer in a well reputed financial institution in the State of Kuwait. He is an expert in preparing policies and procedures manual incorporating the guidelines and process flows for various processes.
